2012: End of Nvidia?

Is this the end of Nvidia? The Legendary gfx card producing company losing in everything. Recently it lost a copyright case to another company. It's continuously losing to AMD's Ati.

Amd has the fastest card on earth and Nvidia is nowhere near. The new Phermi cards from Nvidia are faulty,overheating,power sucking junk! Their Sli technology doesn't work well and has tons of Bugs. Today we got the news that Apple has ditched Nvidia graphic parts in favor of strictly choosing ATI GPUs.

we also got the news that AMD has managed to pull ahead of rival Nvidia in GPU shipments for the second quarter of 2010, according to a new report by Mercury Research. The company was able to grab 24.5% of the total graphics market versus 19.8% for Nvidia. And while Intel remains the undisputable champion, with its integrated graphics chips capturing 54.3% of the market, this is a huge turnaround for AMD compared to the same quarter in 2009, when it held just 18.2% against Nvidia's 29.6%.

Referring specifically to the discrete graphics cards market, the researcher said AMD commanded 51% of shipments during the quarter while Nvidia grabbed a 49% share. Again, just last year they were at 41% and 59% respectively. There are a number of reasons for this role-reversal, starting with the fact that AMD released its first DirectX 11 cards several months before Nvidia. Also, it probably didn't help that the GeForce GTX 480 and 470 cards were heavily criticized for their noise and heat output.

2012 - Mayans predicted the destruction of nVidia and the rest of the world

I dont know about the rest of the world but I wont mind seeing nVidia taking down its final curtain...

I have had some funny experience with these guys..

I had 4x 9800GTX that died simultaneously - that was probably my fault..

I had a 9600 something overheat in me... and another one that fell from my hand and died! I had a 8600 series lost because of Meraj .... the list goes on...

Anyway I haven't tried any new nVidia cards past the 9 series, but they all had that inherent problem of overheating and random crap appearing on screen, a issue nVidia never sorted..

And now nVidia is trying to use its PhysX(a technology they bought and screwed up) to dominate the market over ATi by pursuing developers into using it in games like Mirrors Edge and Now to come Mafia 2 and what not.. ...

Money is never a problem problem is crappy build quality.. I mean C'mon every nVidia card I had had issues. I had a lot of nVidias returned to our stores.. it gives our business a bad name,,,.thats why I asked to suggest and urge new customers to buy ATi instead of nVidia...

As much as I hate to admit..I am having to use ATi a much cheaper brand but one that hasn't failed me yet..its a shame..

its cheaper, its better, its Crossfire works fine, its not power hungry, doesn't overheat for no reason.
